Harry Potter

A Great Task of Solitude by Laurielove (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Lucius
Hermione, years after the end of the war, takes an assignment to a house owned by a man she hoped never to see again, a man she hated. Still, in loneliness, even your enemies can provide companionship. But dark houses hold dark secrets, secrets hidden even from those entrusted to guard them.
"Do you know what it was like to live constantly under the threat of failure, both from him and from one's own expectations? Believing that you are doing the right thing - then wondering why that thing, which is supposed to be so right, so pure, causes nothing but pain and suffering? And for that to become the norm - when death and violence and torture become the usual course of events - the suppression of any sort of moral code - and yes - I did have one, even I. Searching, searching desperately for the right path for me, for my son - confused and battered and so tired, and still having to carry on - with him, with ... everyone. And you tell me, at that time, my soul was replete!?"

A Light in the Fog by turtlewexler (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Severus
The last thing Severus remembers is overhearing a prophecy in a dingy, goat-scented pub. Now there's a James Potter clone with Lily's eyes, a much aged McGonagall, and an infuriatingly familiar woman with wild hair all saying he is not a loyal Death Eater. Looking in a mirror proves that he is, indeed, suddenly pushing fifty. All in all, not his best day.
Memory Hermione's mouth dropped open. "Oh," she whispered. "That is my new Patronus memory as of right now. Finally getting praise from Professor Snape." Memory Severus scoffed. "I—" "Shh. No. Please don't ruin it, sir. You called me brave. Extraordinarily brave. Let's leave it at that."

Hermione/Ron
Ron grieves the loss of his brother and tries to figure out life after the war while trying to navigate his new relationship with Hermione.
"I didn't want to give up. I wanted to believe deep down that it was me you wanted, but…" His voice fell away as he recalled the horrible image of Harry and Hermione embracing. "But it made me see things different. And as soon as I took it off I knew it was wrong, but I still…I could never believe it was me." There was a long pause. Ron couldn't figure out if he should say anything more. She looked like she wanted to speak, but when she opened her mouth no words sounded. He fidgeted nervously, awaiting her response. "Who else would it be?" she finally creaked. Ron was silent, but he knew the guilty look in his eyes conveyed it all too well. "It's always been you." She let out a tiny laugh as she said the words then, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Chasing the Sun by Loten (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Severus
AU, from Order of the Phoenix onwards. Hermione only wanted to learn Healing; she discovers that Professor Snape is a human being after all, and his actions dramatically shape the course of the war as events unfold.
He shook his head emphatically. "Hell, no. I'm sure it will come as absolutely no surprise to you to learn that I utterly despise teaching, and the Headmaster is certainly not going to be in a hurry to welcome me back even if he lives that long. My Potions contract isn't in force any more and my Defence contract was only for one year, so I am under no obligation to return. As for what I will do..." He paused for a moment, and then said quietly, "That, Hermione, rather depends on you, I think." His black eyes were intent and unwavering, and the look in their dark depths sent a little shiver through her as her thoughts cleared and her emotions crystallised with almost painful clarity. Suddenly absolutely certain of her feelings, she smiled a little shakily at him in response, moving closer to him. "Good answer," she whispered, looking up at him.

Hermione/Severus
Eight years after the end of the war Hermione does something that will change her world as she knows it.
"Please, don't go, Severus." His body seemed to hunch in on itself even more, making a previously tall and proud looking man resemble something broken beyond repair, before he turned to look at her. He made no effort to hide the tears that glittered in his eyes and her heart ached in reaction. Severus Snape never cried, and if he did, he certainly never let anyone see. "I don't want to," he whispered, his voice barely carrying to her.

Heart Over Mind by Regann (Fanfiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Severus
Something odd about Hermione causes her to have unexpected reaction to a love potion. Only it's one which no one expected. How could a lack of reaction cause so much trouble? AU to Books 5 and 6.
Suddenly, no one else in the room mattered to Hermione; Dumbledore, Pomfrey, Craig and even Harry faded away as her whole attention focused on Snape, on the fact that he was mere meters away from her, that he was breathing, that he lived despite all evidence to the contrary. In that first second, she'd been paralyzed, but then she was moving, hurtling herself toward at the precise moment he stepped toward her and they met somewhere in the middle of the room, Hermione flinging her arms around his neck and holding on as tightly as she could, unconcerned that there were tears running silently down her face, only aware of the fact that Snape was returning her desperate embrace, that his arms were wrapped around her waist, his face buried against neck, murmuring soft words she couldn't hear over the fast-paced beating of her own heart.

Just Let it Happen by La. Bel. LM (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Severus
For once in her life, Hermione Granger is faced with a problem that she does not know how to solve...
For now, he allowed himself to settle into this mental space and simply... experience her. Her worries, her desires, her aspirations, her devotion and affection. For him. Her affection for him. He was momentarily stunned by the depth of it—and the pristine, unquestioning purity of it. Unsettling, but... and he admitted this without hesitation... wonderful.

Just to Be by Amarti (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Severus
Post-DH, EWE. Six years after the war, Hermione discovers a neglected and abused population with no place in a post-Voldemort world, and the man who stayed behind to pick up the pieces. A story of reconciliation, redemption, and above all, love.
She cried for her own selfishness in wanting to not love him; she would be his companion and his lover but love was still frightening. She cried for her own jealousy that she would always be second to a woman who had spent Hermione's entire life in a pedestal. When flesh and memory are compared, the memory always wins, and that was what Lily was now - a memory.

Leverage: A Christmas Tale by Fragilereality (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Lucius
"Come now, did you really think I was going to pay over a million Galleons just for one kiss? I think you overvalue yourself, Miss Granger. They may refer to you as the Princess of Gryffindor, but you must know you are not an actual princess." An accurate depiction of what would most definitely happen should Lucius and Hermione be trapped under a sprig of enchanted mistletoe.
All she had to do was endure it for a few moments, she reassured herself. Afterwards she would be free to go and pretend that it had never happened. Then his lips were on hers and the most horrific of realisations swept over her. Kissing Lucius Malfoy was everything. It was pounding waves on a deserted beach. It was rockets launching in the desert and mushroom clouds blooming over the Pacific Ocean. It was subway doors closing at just the wrong moment. It was corks flying from champagne bottles and fireworks exploding and buildings collapsing.

One Day Like This by Hannah_1888 (Ashwinder Profile)
Hermione/Severus
After suffering a setback, Hermione finds her life heading in a different direction.
She heard him grumble unintelligibly under his breath and felt a such sudden rush of affection that she leaned over as far as she could, grabbed his chin, and planted a smacker of a kiss on his cheek, making a sound of satisfaction as she did so. His answering expression was one of such priceless horror that Hermione couldn't help but laugh heartily.

Past Imperfect by Vitellia (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Severus
Riddle is dead, but he took most of Hermione Granger's loved ones with him. She is just going through the motions in a bleak postwar world until a stray comment by Dumbledore's portrait gives her a renewed purpose in life – to go back and fix what the scheming Headmaster wrecked.
"I thought if we had some time, maybe you'd grow not to hate me, too." "Lies." "What would convince you?" His fingers twitch on his wand. "No," she says. "I don't give consent." "I need to know." "Not like that." Her voice is emphatic, but she doesn't close her eyes and look away, holds his gaze. "Legilimens," he snarls.

Penfriends by MizSphinx (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Lucius
Suffering from loneliness, Hermione signs up for a penfriend service. She's pleased when she's assigned a nice bloke named Legolas, and soon begins to fall for him. And that might have been just fine if she wasn't falling for Lucius Malfoy too. Oh dear.
"The woman you were supposed to meet tonight," she said quietly, her breath disturbing the fine hairs at his neck. "Is she important to you?" He did not speak right away, but when he did, he replied, "Yes, very important. But she does not seem to know this as yet."

Hermione/Severus

For I am sorry, Hermione. I have moved between Darkness and Light for so long that they have blended into shadow and I often cannot distinguish between them. The Catfish by Miss Dasti (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Lucius

And how else to do it, but with a dash of Polyjuice and a hair off Narcissa Malfoy? Really, what could go wrong?
"I just realized you'd made jokes." A slow, almost taunting smile curled his fine lips. He clicked his tongue. "For same, Miss Granger. And all those years of being lauded as the brightest witch of your age and here you are, five minutes behind the conversation." "Oh, well pardon me, but until now I hadn't thought to look for humor in you." She pressed a finger firmly to the center of his chest. "Well you had best start now and fill that gaping void in your life because frankly, I am delightful."

Thirty-One Days by keelhaulrose (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Hermione/Severus
In the midst of the Battle of Hogwarts Hermione is given the opportunity to help save Snape's life. Little did she know it would require visiting Hogwarts twenty years prior. She has thirty-one days to befriend the sullen Slytherin, and perhaps save his life. But, as always, things don't always go as planned.
She had failed her mission. She would soon become one more person who had damaged Severus, part of the reason he was going to die on the floor of the Shrieking Shack. And it hurt, worse than she thought it would, because deep down she knew her feelings were shifting. She liked Severus, that part was obvious. But a rational woman did not carry on such a relationship, especially in a situation like hers, because they only liked the man. No, it was more than that, and she had to admit it, the way Severus had just admitted she was the most important person in his life at that moment. Somewhere, deep down, she was beginning to love him.
