A Morbid Taste for Ice by sitehound (Archive of Our Own Profile)
Darcy Lewis likes to think of herself as terribly adaptable, with an "if life gives you lemons, zap life with a Taser and demand chocolate" sort of attitude. And life, lately, has had a perverse sense of humor, first trapping her in a state of perpetual Science Assistant in the armpit of New Mexico known as Puente Antiguo; and then forcing her to live in a trailer home with Jane Foster, Jane's guy, Thor, and his brother, Loki, master of mischief and wide-scale urban renewal. But Darcy's not about to let her situation get her down. She's managed to get pretty good at her job, and with liberal application of a credit card, made her rustic house a home. And wielding a Taser and armored by her snarky wit, she's more than a match for the God of Mischief. Stumbling face-first over the frozen body of a friend on the front porch, however, is more than even mostly unflappable Darcy can handle. The obvious suspect is her mentally unstable roommate. But despite all his other faults, Darcy is certain Loki isn't the perpetrator. And not just because she's starting for fall for him....
"You think we're less than you, insignificant and small. But you're no better. And you should be. You should be able to put aside the petty bullshit and live." She met his eyes one last time. "But instead you," she gestured vaguely, "all of you, Thor, Odin, all of you, just do drama and stupid on a humungous scale, for much, much longer." Before she turned and bolted out the door, she said, "You should have the happiest endings of all, but in the end, you ruin it. Just like us."

Black Ice by ofravenwings (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Darcy Lewis always wanted to fly. When she finds a lake covered with ice in the midst of spring, she thinks that skating will be the closest she ever gets. She doesn't know that something dark lies beneath the ice, something that will send her across the universe to a place where Loki is being punished.
Darcy rubs small circles on his back as he weeps, wave after wave of sobbing wracking him. After a while, she finds that she is weeping, too. Crying for the shadows he has lived in, the pain he has lived through. For the life that he should have been living, bright as silver.

Blue by startrekfanwriter (Archive of Our Own Profile)
Post Avengers. Whenever Loki shows up it means Darcy's life is in flux. That doesn't mean she's unhappy to see him.
He is not free. He owes a debt to two realms, and even if things go exactly as he plans, that debt will never be fully repaid. She exhales in what may be frustration and turns. Just before she opens the door, Loki says, "Darcy..." She stops and looks at him. "I am fond of you," he says. Her face crumples a bit, and she leaves in a hurry. He rubs his eyes with one hand. He hadn't meant to be cruel and managed to be anyway.

Fallen Star by Alydia Rackham (FanFiction.Net Profile)
All Loki wants is revenge-the Cube may be his key. But when he hides his identity to get info from Jane Foster, something inside him shifts. And when the Cube is stolen, Loki must choose between vengeance, and the woman he fears he can never have.
With burning eyes, Thor stepped toward Loki. Loki took a step back— And Thor caught him. He put his arms around Loki and pulled him near, and entwined his fingers through the back of the chain around Loki's neck. Thor felt Loki go stiff, his breath catching. "No matter what happens," Thor murmured fervently in his ear. "For as long as the East stands across from the West, you will be my brother."

Overlapping Spaces by Khilari (FanFiction.Net Profile)
Thor returns to Earth a month after the Chitauri invasion to keep his promises - to see Jane again, and take her to see Asgard. But she wasn't expecting Loki to be haunting the palace library, even in psychiatric care; and Loki wasn't expecting to make friends with Thor's mortal girlfriend.
'Thor mentioned that part,' said Jane. 'He said they thought you were dead at first, but then they found you.' She came up beside him. 'He said Odin had been preparing a rescue.' 'No.' Loki shook his head sharply, moving away from all of them. 'He can't have been, he only had enough dark energy to send Thor.' Heimdall's head turned, golden eyes finally fixing on Loki in the here-and-now. 'Did you think he gathered that in two days?'

The Blood-Dimmed Tide by ofravenwings (FanFiction.Net Profile)
In penance for his actions, Loki has been sent back to Earth and imprisoned beneath Stark Tower. New York has been shattered by the Chitauri attack, most of its populace scattered to other parts of the country. Those who remain in the city are struggling to survive as the world slides towards economic and political chaos. Darcy Lewis is one of those who chose to remain.
"You said once that you blamed me for destroying your world." "And I do," she says, and he winces again. "But I also forgive you for it." He stares at her. "You…forgive me?" "Yeah, I know, you're a God, blah blah blah, and Gods probably don't need to be forgiven by mortals. But whatever else you are, you are also the man I see before me. And I, Darcy Lewis, forgive you."

To Cleave the Stars by Hollywithaneye (FanFiction.Net Profile)
When Loki becomes tangled in his own web of lies, truth and clarity comes from the oddest of places - and Jane learns that the cruelest masks are those made for us by others.
"So let me make sure I have all of this straight - overpowered sociopath has a sudden change of heart and turns himself in for horrendous torture, coincidentally protecting a world that he has only one apparent connection to?" His pointed look left little room for misinterpretation. "That', that's not…"Jane kept trying for something more coherent, and failed miserably. Tony wasn't really implying that Loki had done what he did for her, was he? "Jane." She glanced up, and that irritating smirk had worked its way back onto Tony's face, like the cat who'd eaten the proverbial canary. "You know, if you need advice on how to domesticate a super-genius badboy with an ego and a checkered past, you could just call Pepper." "Oh my God." Jane smothered a groan, and felt a dull flush flame her cheeks. "You're insane, and I'm not having this conversation with you. Goodbye, Tony."
